The production for upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther has officially wrapped up.
From the set pictures as well as some concept arts, Black Panther is shaping up to be one hell of an amazing film. From the beautiful depiction of Wakanda to the fantastic cast to the teased jungle fight scene, there is so much to be excited about for this film. Black Panther will surely draw comparisons with MCU veteran Thor given their status in their nations, but their vastly different personalities and backstories will surely make Black Panther one of the MCU’s more unique films. Given the criticism that the MCU has gotten for being generic and formulaic, Black Panther is the perfect opportunity for them to really show critics and viewers that they are willing to be more creative with their stories.
Lead star Chadwick Boseman confirmed the completion of filming by tweeting out a picture with fellow co-stars Lupita Nyong’o, director Ryan Coogler and Syndelle Noel, captioned “We did it, We did it.#WakandaForever #BlackPanther”.
T’Challa AKA Black Panther made his MCU debut in 2016’s massive box office hit Captain America: Civil War and was met with universal praise for the action sequences and Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of the Wakandian prince. It is undeniably one of the major highlights of the film, which is saying a lot given that he was only a supporting character in a film full of established superheroes like Iron-Man, Vision, Black Widow, Captain America and Hawkeye.
The official snopysis for the film reads:
With this news, we can expect more content from the film and marketing to start sometime this summer. Expect a first trailer around that time too.
Black Panther is scheduled for release on February 16, 2018.
