It appears that the Ant-Man cast isn’t going to be changing its original line up. With Paul Rudd returning to the titular role and Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Peña all set to return, the return of David Dastmalchian’s Kurt could hint that the sequel to successful Ant-Man film will likely retain all the qualities of the previous. It’s still unclear if T.I. will reprise his role but we can be hopeful – seems very likely.
At the red carpet premiere of fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, David Dastmalchian confirmed with Entertainment Tonight that he will indeed be reprising his role as Kurt in the 2018 sequel. Apparently, this confirmation was relatively recent only after speaking to director Peyton Reed.
Other than new designs for Ant-Man and The Wasp as well as that Evangeline Lilly’s character Hope Van Dyne will suit up alongside Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, there is not much about the film that we know of at this point. Regardless, the news that the original team is back is sure to excite fans for the sequel. Lang’s crew of misfit and minor criminals is undeniably one of the highlights of the 2015 film. Their interaction and reactions with the other characters as well as the events of the film gave the film such a natural and unforced humor – especially Michael Peña’s goofy character Luis.
Dastmalchian made his Arrowverse debut in The Flash in episode 18 Abra Kadabra as the 64th century criminal of the same name, a role that he has gotten numerous praise from viewers. It has led fans to speculate that he could possibly be the main villain for the next season of The Flash given that we do know it is not going to be a speedster villain.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is expected to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
