Following the release of DCEU’s third film Suicide Squad, Nether Realms has released a trailer for Deadshot and Harley for the highly anticipated sequel to the action combat game Injustice.
The new trailer showcases several cut scenes as well as gameplay footage for the two widely popular characters. Like the other footages released in the pass months, this video shows Harley Quinn and Deadshot battling other announced characters for the game which includes Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Gorilla Grodd.
Set to release in 2017, Injustice 2 promises to be one of the more advanced arcade style gameplay with unique mechanics. While Nether Realm studios has hinted at a relative large cast of playable characters, they have yet to confirm majority of them. Fans are eager for less prominent characters such as Red Hood, Batwing, Booster Gold, Larfleeze and Starfire to be introduced. As for the Suicide Squad theme, there is no word on whether or not the Joker would be in the game – but it would be safe to assume he is given his prominence in the DC universe.
Personally, I am excited for how the storyline is going to unfold for the sequel given that the first game delivered one of the best plots for games of similar types. While most of the story details for the sequel are still a mystery, it has been confirmed that it will continue with Superman being from his prison and subsequently joined by others that aids him in regaining his status.
Injustice 2 will be released on Playstation 4 and Xbox One in early 2017.
