The long awaited sequel to the highly popular DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us is set for release on May 16, 2017. NetherRealm Studios‘ Ed Boon revealed the news through a not so cryptic tweet.
Injustice 2 is a follows up from the 2013 fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us where we see a grieving Superman embark on his quest to rid the world of all evils at any cost. The game will be expanding the playable characters and is reported to include a new armour system which will change the overall look of your character – a feature that is meant to enhance the gaming experience. This will be the first time that gamers will be able to be in full control of the design of their characters and supposedly fighting style. With trailers for numerous characters posted on YouTube, fans can get a glimpse of the flashy showdowns and fighting styles of their favourite heroes!
One of the main highlights of Injustice: Gods Among Us was its impressive cinematic story – one that has been made into a comic series of the same name. While there is no news about the direction this sequel will be taking, fans are still eagerly awaiting to find out how Batman and his resistance are handling the destruction caused by Superman’s tyrannic regime.
Featuring a massive roster of both Heroes and Villains from the DC Universe, the action game will be made available for the main gaming consoles PS4 and Xbox One.
