With the end of the Civil War between Iron Man and Captain America, peace returns to Marvel Avengers Academy – at least for a day.
As a move to introduce more characters, Tiny Co. taps on Black Knight, a Medieval villain to stir up trouble in School of Heroes. Presumably Dane Whitman, Black Knight arrives at the Marvel Avengers Academy through a magic portal holding Union Jack, Joey Chapman, captive. Shortly later, Captain Britain, Brain Braddock, arrives to seek help from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to save his comrade.
After two back to back month long events (Gotg and Civil War), it was smart for them to offer a less intensive event for players to be focus on upgrading the characters that they own as well as progress in the game’s storyline. Assuming to last about a week, one can expect to recruit Captain Britain (premium) and Union Jack (through event quest). It is uncertain if Black Knight would either just leave the academy or join the academy like Madame Hydra, though the latter is relatively unlikely. Another plausible outcome would be trapping the Dark Warrior in a cell similar to Ronan and Red Skull. Only time will tell how this event will play out and if there will be any repercussions for future events.
Along with the new event, the Academy gets a new (6×6) building Avengers Parks that is sure to add beauty and realism to each player’s uniquely designed school. While no further details are given on this fantastic decoration, players can assume that it will function more than just an aesthetic supplement and most definitely will allow our young avengers to perform character specific actions in the near future.
While new characters and buildings are always welcomed to the Academy, players are slightly disappointed that Tiny Co. didn’t opt to expand the main storyline. There are many players who have already reached the end of the current quest line and are left nothing else to do but farm for gold. While no official statement has been released, we can expect that an expansion to the gamma zone time-fog will arrive soon. Furthermore, some code-savvy fans have found data for popular heroes like “Squirrel Girl”, “Spider-Gwen”, “Green Goblin”, “Dr Octopus” and even the “Oscorp Labs” building in the game’s code. With a Spider-Man themed event teased to revolve around the Sinister Six, the Academy is certainly going to expand greatly in capacity.
In the meantime, players can focus on the current medieval themed event as well as level up some of their characters before larger events arrive at Marvel Avengers Academy.
