After the trailer for the highly anticipated superhero film dropped a few days ago, Sony has revealed that Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is set for July 5, 2019 along with moving Bad Boys 4 forward to May 24, 2019.
Portrayed by Tom Holland, Spider-Man made his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War earlier this year – to which he received unanimous praise. While we have yet to see much of Parker’s world, it is clear that Holland has amassed a sizable fanbase from the third Captain America film which would definitely help boost the sales for his solo debut next year.
In the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, the web-slinging superhero is set to headline his undoubtedly first of many films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While fans were split on the new change to Spidey’s suit – the web wings, it is undeniable that the MCU wants to tap on old school spidey rather than the more modern adaptations. Unlike Marvel’s previous adaptations, Spider-Man: Homecoming is clearly directed towards the younger generation by portraying the titular hero in high school and discovering what it means to be a superhero. Furthermore, the clip gives us a first look at the movie’s reported primary villain, Vulture, played by talented Michael Keaton. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as the playful billionaire Tony Stark who will serve as a mentor for this young hero.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release on July 7th, 2017.
