With Marvel’s Doctor Strange kicking off the last leg of the 2016 comic book superhero movie season, fans are already excited for next year’s set list. Out of the three Marvel Studios films that are set for a 2017 release, Spider-Man: Homecoming without a doubt has the edge in terms of popularity which is a feat on its own given the successes of the other two franchises, Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has officially gave the confirmation that Michael Keaton will be playing the iconic villain Vulture in the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming. Despite having his casting confirmed for months now, the studio has not once confirmed the identity of Keaton’s character despite the image leak a few months back.
Set to star Tom Holland reprising the role from this year’s massive blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming will hopefully revive the Spider-Man franchise in the immensely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. Having stated to following the structure of the Harry Potter films, Marvel’s adaptable of the webslinger would follow Peter Parker’s journey in high school as he grows up to be one of the most reputable heroes of all-generation – with the guidance of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
