The wait is over! Marvel has released the official trailer for the upcoming Marvel Netflix show Luke Cage, portrayed by Mike Colter, which will show him transform into the Harlem’s defender.
The synopsis reads:
After his supporting role in Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Luke Cage sets off to a rough part of Harlem to rediscover himself. In the trailer, we get a glimpse of the origins of Luke Cage’s formidable powers – like Wolverine, he underwent experimentations against his will. While the trailer does not show much, it does reveal that the series is set to showcase the origins of Luke Cage, like his soon-to-be teammate Daredevil. What is particularly amazing about the bulletproof hero is that he marks a strong step forward in racial diversity not just for the MCU but for TV in general.
Marvel’s Luke Cage will also star Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight) and of course the lovable Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple who has appeared in all of the the previous MCU Netflix adaptations.
Be sure to tune in to Marvel’s Luke Cage premiering September 30 with the culmination of the New York heroes in Marvel’s The Defenders set for sometime in 2017.
