Joivan Wade Joins ‘Doom Patrol’ as Cyborg

The live-action Titans spin off Doom Patrol adds Joivan Wade as the half-human-half-machine Victor Stone AKA Cyborg. Wade joins previously announced cast members Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane) and April Bowlby (Elasti-Woman).

Joivan Wade is a young english actor known primarily for his role as Jordan Johnson in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Wade also starred in the recently released dystopian action horror film The First Purge.

Cyborg is known by many for his appearance in the Teen Titans cartoon which ran from 2003 to 2009. The character is often described as the charming and sarcastic . His story often deals with his ability to connect to every computer in the world as well as his troubles in connecting with people on a personal level. The last live-action adaptation of the character was in the 2017 film Justice League, portrayed by Ray Fisher.

Doom Patrol is reported to be a spin off from the Titans tv show set to premiere in 2018 along with the launch of DC's streaming service DC Universe. The show centers around a group of outcasts which includes Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane. With Cyborg leading them, these young heroes join forces in dealing with the stranger situations in the DC Universe.

It is uncertain when the series will premiere, but it is likely it will be sometime in 2019. However, Cyborg might make an appearance in the upcoming Titans show episode Doom Patrol.
