According to Fandango, Wonder Woman topped a survey asking audiences’ their most anticipated summer films.
Wonder Woman has been getting a lot of good press lately – from the positive reception from critics who managed to get early showings to the myriad of posters and TV spots. Adding this bit of news (and surprise), it’s safe to say Wonder Woman will do more than just fine at the box office next month. In response to this news, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has nothing but joy and gratefulness for the fans who are going to watch this overdue film starring one of DC Comics’ oldest and most iconic female superheroes.
Starring the gorgeous Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman will be the 4th addition to Warner Bros. ever-growing DC Extended Universe following Suicide Squad last summer. Given the harsh critical reception that prior DCEU films have gotten from both fans and critics, many were questioning the sustainability of the DCEU. With so much unprecedented positivity surrounding Wonder Woman, we can only hope that audiences and critics will be more open and supportive of the DCEU – especially since one of the biggest films of the century will be dropping this November, JUSTICE LEAGUE.
The synopsis for the World War 1 centered film reads:
Spider-Man: Homecoming, the MCU’s latest addition following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 earlier this year, comes in at the no.2 spot. Regardless, both films are sure to do well. Wonder Woman hits theatres in about a week on June 2, 2017. Be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible!
