Wonder Woman is less than two months away, and it’s the best time for Warner Bros. and DC to go full on with their marketing strategy to generate hype for the film. Gal Gadot and Chris Pine took to twitter to announce that Wonder Woman content will be released every Wednesday leading up to the film, #WonderWednesdays. These content can range from contests to behind the scenes pictures to even never before scene clips from Wonder Woman! You can expect that it will only get better with each week that passes.
Wonder Woman will be the 4th DCEU film and the last before Justice League hits theaters in November. The trailers for the films are keeping fans very excited and breathing hope into the DCEU, especially in an era where the universe hasn’t gotten the best reception from viewers and media. The film so far has been lauded by fans and several critics for being very different and having a refreshing take on DC films. Wonder Woman will also be the first female-lead superhero film since Catwoman in 2004 and Elektra in 2005, more than 75 years since the character first made its debut in All Star Comics #8 back in 1941.
This new strategy is amazing news for the DCEU as it shows that they are continue to work on their marketing in addition to evolving their films. Although nothing clear is said about these coming content, we can hope for a first look at main antagonist Ares who will be played by Harry Potter star David Thewlis.
The film synopsis reads:
Wonder Woman hits theaters in June 2, 2017. In the meantime, stay tuned for more Wonder Woman content every Wednesday!
